San Jose, California - 10 Apr 2008: Computer memory that combines the high performance and reliability of flash with the low cost and high capacity of the hard disk drive could be closer than you think, thanks to a team of IBM (NYSE: IBM) scientists. In two papers published in the April 11 issue of Science, IBM Fellow Stuart Parkin and colleagues at the IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose describe both the fundamentals of a technology dubbed “racetrack” memory as well as a milestone in that technology. Montreal - 9th July 2008

Popuload Software announced today the release of its new messaging product, Digital Memo. Designed for managers, CEO’s or anyone communicating to a team of staff, Digital Memo distributes messages to employees without the dialogue e-mail or other messaging systems create.

“There are times when a message is better suited to be communicated one-way to the employee, rather than the current office standards such as email and other two-way communication methods that allow for an open dialogue,” says Popuload Software founder Alex Furness.

Digital Memo does just that, sending the message directly to the employees’ desktops, without the option to talkback. Here’s how it works: Digital Memo integrates the RSS feed distributed with your blog, notifying anyone who has the Digital Memo Reader installed of each new blog post. This allows for those in management to use their blog as a tool to send memos digitally. Read the rest of this entry »

IODE… Women working together for Canada
icon1 Nancy Wilson | icon4 03 18th, 2008

Since 1900 IODE women have been responding to the needs of others. They have raised money to purchase much needed food and medical supplies during the World Wars, including the purchase of the Bolingbroke bomber which was presented to the government of Canada.

Over the years as the needs in the country have changed so has the focus of IODE. Snack packs have been purchased annually for the outlying community schools in Labrador where so many children were arriving at school without having breakfast. Bursaries and Scholarships are provided to promising young people to be able to carry on in their future studies. Baby Think It Over infant simulators are provided to schools across Canada by many chapters.

To read more about the good work of IODE visit www.iode.ca for information about IODE Canada. To learn more about IODE in BC visit www3.telus.net/iodeinbc/
